Today was one of those early reminders that fall is fickle in the mountains, as sunny days bathed in cerulean skies surrendered to an ominous blanket of gray. We had clouds, rain, and cold most of the day until the gray layer stripped away late in the afternoon. As it slowly peeled back the clouds to reveal the sun, I was hopeful of some nice views of Pikes Peak with its first real blanket of snow. The Peak remained cloaked until I was almost home, when the clouds fell away to reveal their prize - snow capped glory! Enjoy - fall is here, and it is fleeting....
I have a front row seat of the entire front range this morning - Tis a beautiful sight. Even turned on the furnace for the first time last night. Winter is soon here....
ReplyDeleteWe hit 90 today and lots of sun. Fall?
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'll miss the warm weather, it's fun seeing the snow show up on the peaks.
ReplyDeleteCold weather clouds can be interesting too; more smooth & sculptural vs. billowy. I've seen that already this week.
Even cool in MS... here the weather gets crazy this time too, warm, cold, back and forth! have a great day!
ReplyDeleteFall is way too fast no matter how long it is. I like all the seasons but love love fall!
ReplyDeleteSummer, indian summer, two seconds of fall and then the snow flies. Isn't that how it goes?
ReplyDeleteI find the opposite seasons on your side of the world really interesting. We have mild winters. In Johannesburg, where I've lived my full 47 years, there was snow 3 times in those years. Our summer is also our wet season.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely right..I will surely miss the warm weather.
