62 to -17 in 72 hours....
When you have a day in January like we had Saturday, where all is right in the running universe and warm rays of the blazing solar orb radiate across your running form as your well-oiled machine effortlessly glides across the trails, sauntering through a glorious mid-winter run - you take pause to stop and think, I live in the Rocky Mountains and this IS winter - there must be a catch...
And did you notice - close to a 100 degree temperature shift between a balmy 62 to -35 windchill???!!!
Welcome to the Rockies!

Welcome to the Rockies!
Oh yea, this weather sucks! I am just waiting for the next day of sunshine!
ReplyDeleteOh Yes!!! But.. for me as a teacher.. it means "Snow Day!!" :) Best of both worlds!!!! We may squeeze a run in... dressing like we are in the Antarctic.... or perhaps maybe today is a "gym" day... I am tempted to get out there just to see how tough I can be... :) --- or not :)
ReplyDeleteDear Tammy and Christi,
ReplyDeleteJust checked Weather at 8:00am - windchill is now -41!!!
Tammy - even if you cover every square inch of exposed skin, I think your eyeballs might freeze. Let me know how fun it is if you do get out! :-)
K
I'm actually looking forward to bundling up for a short run today! (I need help, I know).
ReplyDeleteHas the new pup eaten the sofa yet?
LOL... so true.. I know.. we took the dogs for a short walk last night.. I was so bundled.. "but" I couldn't keep my eyes covered... I could barely see and I was SO cold! I suppose I could run w/ Goggles :) It could make quite the blog photo :))
ReplyDeleteTim - Yes, the sofa is still intact!
ReplyDeleteHe has been about perfect in the house, thankfully. Yes, you and Tammy are rather sick people. :-)
Like I told Tammy, your eyeballs might freeze.
Temp update at 8:20: -44 windchill
Ha,ha Tammy - Anything for a good photo op, huh???!!! Have fun! :-)
ReplyDeleteBut aren't you grateful we're one-dimensional and only enduring extreme cold instead of that AND a blizzard?!? Yay! Plus, no school for me today - yippee!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link on the half you're doing in March. Don't think I'd do that one as it's a bit far for me to drive for a half...but it looks like a blast!!
Stay warm, guys!!!
Silly me, I thought February was going to bring warmer weather. Maybe... February 28th.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. After the wonder of Saturday I supposed we earned this one....
ReplyDeleteWe also have a snow day tomorrow! I actually like Wednesdays but oh well! I'll take it! It's great knowing the night before. Bundle up! You might as well be in Vermont!
ReplyDeleteYikes!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou just had to do the math! OMG! It is dreadful...but thankfully by Friday, we'll be back to our gorgeous weather - just in time for the weekend! Stay warm. Hope your new addition to the family is settling in well!
ReplyDeleteThat is winter for sure! But anything must be worth living in the Rocky Mountains!
ReplyDeleteOnly one word -WOW!
ReplyDeleteSteve was just pointing out to me the other night that you two have some MAJOR weather swings from one day to the next, that is just incredible. There were a lot of runners from Colorado(and spectators)at the cross country championships today and they all looked SO happy to be here...sunshine!
ReplyDeleteStay warm and happy, I can just tell that you two thrive in this weather or any weather really...rock on!!
Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteI changed my web address.. same blog, just different URL...
