Some shelter from the wind - a Monday romp through Garden of the Gods

Well, our customary Spring-time winds have arrived in relentless force, which, for me (Kathleen), requires earplugs in order to sleep at night and a nice protected trail running route for shelter from the wind during the day.  Garden of the Gods, although not completely sheltered, does offer a little reprieve from the windy nastiness we've been experiencing as of late so that's where I headed.

I think I used up my allotment of "words" talking at work today so few words here but several pics from my romp through the park:

I love trail pics!

Smiling and savoring wonderful trail, sun, and 60 degrees.  Lovely day!

Not much "mojo" today - more like "slo-jo" but it was all good.  Ended up with 9 miles, beat the wind (mostly!), and had a great day!  Happy Trails to everyone this week!

Hi guys, don't worry Steve - you'll get your Mojo back, unless Doctor Evil has stolen it.

About the Salomon runners - I've been in them exclusively for 7 years! I spend lots of time with wet feet and the old XA Pros, and the newer XA Pro Grid 3D drain and dry out real quick. They fit me well. No blister problems. Just upgraded to the Wings and ran the 90k with wet feet at Coyote Two Moons and didn't get any blisters. I think I still prefer the fit of the old 3D's though, they feel less clunky.

Hope all is well in your corner of the world!

Ah, that was just like a little visit to Colorado for my spring break! I loved those pictures, thanks for sharing a day of sun and beauty with me! It was sunny and nice here today but I didn't quite experience nature like you did...ah!

Seeing the red rocks and red dirt and the peek through the rock pics are my favorites. Looks like you got some good hillwork in!

I love that first pic of Pikes Peak through the rock; it's so pretty!

I love running in the Garden of the Gods, it's such a fantastic place to be. I need to get down to Colorado Springs more often. I heard you guys were getting a heck of a snow storm down there today!

Thanks for the comments!

Leslie - Thanks for the shoe info. And Ms Kathleen was mojo-less - I was slaving away at the grind while she played!!

Tara - it snowed like mad for about 3 hours, then the sun came out. Colorado in Spring - if you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes!

Um, how did you guys miss the snow? I woke up to heavy snowfall with about 3" of wet stuff on the ground. Errrrrr! I'm glad you had great run in, love GoftheG, so pretty! And hey, I'm always sojo so welcome to Jill's world :).
