Waldo Fire continues......

Just a quick update.....  We have not been evacuated yet.  But the fire continues to grow.  It is estimated to be at around 5100 acres, currently.  The smoke is hanging in a haze across the region and the smoke smell, at least at our house, is super strong.  We are both headed into work today.  Our cars our packed with essentials, documents, photos, bikes and running gear (priorities, you know), and not too much else.  What do you take???  It's just "stuff".  Anyway, that's just a quick update.  Here is a link to our local paper's website which has done a great job keeping the site updated regularly.  We are considered north Mountain Shadows neighborhood.  Peregrine and the Air Force Academy are to the north and Rockrimmon is east.  Thanks for all of your warm and kind thoughts, prayers, and offers of accomodations.  We've gotten lots of emails from you and it is encouraging for us.

Thanks for letting us know how you guys are doing. These fires are so horrible - and no relief in sight. Come on monsoon season!!!!

Thinking of you, Kathleen and Steve! You and your home are on my mind. Wow, what a month for our state--there's now a fire in Boulder, too. Time for a rain-without-lightning dance. Stay safe, and breathe clean!

Dallas and I were just talking about you both up there and he thought we should check your blog for an update. I've been out of town a lot lately. I feel for you guys; such a sad sight to see all that beautiful area burn. I just hope you all stay safe and don't lose your home. We are super hot here in Tucson, but so far, no fires. I'll be praying for you both. Love, Renee

We're worried sick about you guys and friends in Colo Springs and Manitou. In reading the news ticker, it sounds like your neighborhood has a bulls eye target on it. How sad and devastating. Call or send a text if you can.

I hope and pray you guys are okay and that your home is still standing. We arrived home this evening after being away for almost two weeks. It was pretty difficult to watch things unfold from 1400 miles away. I can't imagine what you guys have been through this past week. Sending prayers your way!
